Art Exhibition
MAEA MEMBER EXHIBIT INFORMATION
The Missouri Art Education Association Juried Art Exhibition is open to all members of MAEA who are registered at the annual Spring Conference. This juried event provides at least one art scholarship for professional development. The winner(s) is also expected to present at a MAEA conference within 2 years of receiving the award. Failure to present within 2 years would require repayment of the scholarship.
Requirements and Limits:
The exhibition is limited to hand delivered works of art at the time of the Spring Conference. The location of the exhibit will be given at the conference reservation site.
Entries are limited to two works of art per member.
An entry form is to be printed at home and attached to each artwork submitted. (Make additional copies as needed)
The artist must install all work and have the materials necessary for such installation. Size is limited to what you can carry. Please bring an easel for 2D work, if possible.
Artwork must not have been shown in a MAEA Member Exhibit previously. Artists must provide their own insurance for their artwork. MAEA is unable to provide such insurance and does not resume responsibility for any damage or loss of artwork at any time.
MAEA reserves the right to exclude any entry that it deems unsuitable for this exhibition.
All artwork must be removed by the artist at the close of the exhibition.
MEMBER SHOW AWARDS
Ribbons will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and honorable mention ribbons in various division categories. The categories are: oil / acrylic, watercolor, mixed media / collage, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, assemblage, fiber arts, photography, glass, and digital design.
The Best of Show award will be given a Scholarship Award for an art experience to help develop the artist. Art experiences may include arts and crafts programs, art related tours, or other professional development workshops.
BEST OF SHOW SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
The scholarship ($1000) is to be used to attend an art experience within the next two years following the receipt of the award. The award recipient will submit a description of the proposed art experience to the President@maea.net prior to making arrangements. All arrangements for travel, lodging, registration, etc are to be made by the award recipient.
MAEA will reimburse expenses up to $1000.00 to attend an art experience to help develop the artist. Expenses can include transportation, lodging, meals, registration fees, admission fees, tuition, and other costs directly related to attendance.
No expenditure will be reimbursed without a completed MAEA Expense Voucher and receipts for all items for which reimbursement is requested. A request for reimbursement must be made within 30 days after the event in which the expenses were incurred.
MAEA members are allowed two years to use the scholarship money.
Winners of the MAEA Member Art Exhibit scholarships must present a workshop on their art experience or related to their development as an artist at the next Fall or Spring conference following the summer in which the scholarship from MAEA was used.
