New Contest Starting Now: Missouri Literature

THE Show Me Art COLORING BOOK CONTEST ENTRY FORM 


Missouri Art Education Association (MAEA) wants to showcase your original artwork in their next Show Me Art Coloring Book. In creating and selling this book, it is MAEA’s goal is to raise scholarship funds for a deserving high school senior who aspires to become a Missouri Art Educator. Therefore, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the coloring book will be used for the MAEA Future Visual Art Teacher Scholarship.


INSTRUCTIONS: 

Create a line drawing to fit the theme: MISSOURI LITERATURE

Showcase your favorite Missouri author, redesign their book covers or illustrate your own interpretation of that author’s story or poem.

The subject matter of your drawing should be your interpretation and may include a famous person, historical site, etc.  However, any copyrighted images such as a Walt Disney character or sport logos will not be accepted for publication.     

Examples of Missouri authors include Mark Twain, T.S. Eliot, Maya Angelou, Laura Ingalls Wilder, Walt Disney, Constance Levy, and Kate Klise.

Give your artwork a title & write an artist statement describing your inspiration, process, or other information.


SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: 

Submit your entry online (https://www.maea.net/programs-and-events/Contest) here. Minors must have a legal parent or guardian submit for them or a parent signature release. Limit 10 entries per teacher.  Winning entrants will be notified by email, or parent email if under 18. Their entries will be printed in the 4th MAEA ShowMe Art Coloring Book, available for purchase online. 

Entries received after the deadline may be considered for future coloring book editions. 


Applicants must be a student or teacher currently residing in Missouri. All entries must be original and entirely created by the entrant; follow copyright laws. By entering the contest, you are consenting to, releasing rights, and allowing MAEA to use your image for print, advertising, publication, and profit to raise money for the MAEA Scholarship Fund.  

* Note that the MAEA Coloring Book Committee retains the right to omit certain images based on quality, copyright or content.

Art Teachers:  We suggest downloading and printing the entry form, have your students fill out the information , take home to obtain a parent signature if under 18, and then email all artwork release consent forms to MAEA President Elect.
