Sitting in summer council meeting at the Nelson-Atkins, waiting for people to get logged in on the website so that council members can build their own blog. Technology! Friend or foe? We've had to exercise lots of patience as we work through all the problems. Rahila Weed is amazing and a calm presence in all of this chaos! Thank you, Rahila!
Shannon (president) and I just returned from NAEA Leadership Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The conference was very intense, but very informative. We learned what kind of leaders we are and what our strengths and weaknesses are and how to work with people who have different leadership styles from ourselves. Shannon and I discovered that we are complete opposites. I tend to be very straight-forward, I'm not a warm and fuzzy type person and often act quickly without regard to people's feelings. I do think about that, but if I have a job to do I move forward. Shannon is very sweet and kind and very conscientious of other peoples feelings. We go together like peas and carrots.
