Workshops that require registration are indicated below with the words "sign-up".  If a workshop has a fee, it can be paid in Jefferson City at the conference.

Thursday, March 13

9 a.m. -  3 p.m., various times Capitol Tours in conjunction with Youth Art Month celebration day.  All the tours from 9 – 3 have been reserved by MAEA. Note: These tours are for MAEA members, their students, and students' families.  These are the only tours on this list that students are allowed to attend; all others are for MAEA members and conference registrants only.  (limit 60 per tour)  sign-up for Capitol tours here (separate from other off-site registrations)

1-2 p.m. Governor’s Mansion Tour & Meet artist Carla Steck and former First Lady Lori Holden, as they talk about the process of painting the First Lady's official portrait for the Mansion.  sign-up

1-3:30 p.m. Jefferson Landing Tour featuring two 19th century buildings on the riverboat landing. Tour starts at the Lohman building but Union Hotel is also part of this tour.  

2 p.m. Capitol Dome Tour hosted by Senator Mike Kehoe's office (limit 25) sign-up

2-5 p.m. Silk Screen Come & Go Workshop @ J Pfenny’s upper room

3:30-5:30 p.m. First to Five T-shirt competition  @ J Pfenny’s upper room

2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Missouri Supreme Court Building (Must be there by 2). 

4 – 4:45 p.m. Missouri State Archives Center Tour in the James C Kirkpatrick State Information Center. sign-up

8-10 p.m. Slumped Wine Bottle Workshop at The Mission – Enjoy decorating a slumped bottle while listening to music and enjoying a beverage.


Friday, March 14

10 – 11 a.m. Jefferson Landing State Historic Site Tours. 

10 – 11 a.m. Meet the Artist –Carla Steck – painted Governor Holden’s portrait.

10, 10:20, 10:40 a.m. Capitol Tours – meet at the information desk.

1 – 3 p.m. Cole County Historical Society $4 adults, $3 seniors (pay there) 

2 – 4 p.m. Jefferson Landing State Historic Site Tours (50 people/group) 

2-5 p.m. VIP Capitol Tour by Bob Priddy, News Director of Missourinet, historian, and published author of The Art of the Missouri  Capitol.  (limit 20)  $5  sign-up

2-3 p.m.  Silk Screen Come & Go Workshop @ J Pfenny’s upper room

2-3 p.m.  First Five T-shirt competition @ J Pfenny’s upper room

3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Missouri Supreme Court Building (Must be there by 3) 

5:00 – 6:00 p.m.  First Five Meet & Greet at Arris Bistro


Saturday, March 15

8 – 10:30 a.m. Horsehair and Reduction – Tatum/ Bayless Lincoln University (WORKSHOP FULL)

9 – 11:30 a.m. Wildlife Works of Art @ Calvary Lutheran high school. You will leave with a matted piece of artwork.  (limit 30) Fee dependent on size of paper chosen for project and medium used.  sign-up 

10 – 11 a.m. Capitol Tours (limit 50)
